Wildside Lodges - Facilities
The
two bedroom
lodges are all situated along the river and
enjoy private lawns to the riverbank. The spacious one
bedroom
lodges ideal for couples, are situated in the centre of
the grounds and are set well apart in large lawns. Guests can wander
on paths to the waters edge where there is a small beach, popular for
barbecues, or a picnic table on the riverbank. Our newly built luxury
three bedroom
log cabin style lodges have open views to the mountains and are situated
on the fringe of the holiday park in their own private grounds.
There is an outside light at each lodge but no street lights so bring a torch for winter months. That way there is no light pollution and you may be amazed at what you might see in the clear Scottish night skies - "Northern Lights" (above).
The Reception in the grounds is open during office hours for help and advice for our holiday guests. We stock maps, guides for local walks around South Loch Ness and a wide range of information on local venues and events, menus for restaurants etc. There is a payphone, always accessible, where for example the Doctor’s number is displayed. Next to Reception there is a central laundry facility with modern washing machine and dryer available to visitors to Wildside.
200 metres from your holiday chalets up the road a country pub has a restaurant and serves bar meals. There is a village shop at Foyers, 3 miles by road, and the Waterfall Café situated as the name implies above the famous Falls of Foyers, serves delicious meals and snacks. Fort Augustus has two small supermarkets, several shops, restaurants and bars, some on the Caledonian Canal locks. Inverness has major supermarkets, open 24 hours, an excellent modern shopping centres, road rail and air links and a number of car hire companies.
